Is admission on a first-come, first-served basis?

No. We believe in thoughtful placements. Admission is based on school readiness, developmental fit, classroom dynamics, and alignment with our educational philosophy—not on the order in which applications are received.

We welcome children from 18 months to 4 years old. For those under 2, they must be able to walk independently to begin school. Children who are currently enrolled and turning 5 will be automatically transitioned to Timbertots Early Years Centre, unless parents submit a formal withdrawal.

No, the trial class is part of the assessment process. It allows our educators to observe the child’s developmental readiness for group learning. Enrolment is offered based on the outcome of this observation and class availability.

If your child is not offered a placement immediately, you may choose to remain on our waitlist. Should a spot become available or circumstances change, we will contact you.

Please understand that the decision is based on multiple factors—including school readiness, group dynamics, and available space—and is made in the best interest of the child and the class as a whole. As this is an internal and professional evaluation, the centre will not be able to entertain appeals or provide detailed explanations.

Class and teacher placements are determined by our academic team based on age, development, and overall group dynamics. We consider what is best for each child and class as a whole.

A: This depends on the number of applicants and withdrawals in a given term. Families on the waitlist will be notified if a suitable spot opens up. Waitlists do not roll over automatically to the next year—families must renew their interest.

No. Children are not required to be toilet-trained to be considered for admission. Our educators are experienced in supporting toilet learning when developmentally appropriate.

Readiness is determined by observing a combination of factors: ability to separate from caregiver, interest in play, communication (verbal or non-verbal), adaptability to transitions, and physical independence.

We encourage parents to stay nearby during the trial class but allow the child to experience the session independently. This helps us better observe how they adapt in a group setting without direct parental presence. You’ll receive feedback after the session.

It’s completely normal for some children to take time to adjust. Our educators are trained to gently support children through separation anxiety and unfamiliar settings. We focus on signs of recovery and willingness to engage over time.

If your child is unwell on the day of the trial class, we will arrange a reschedule. However, we generally offer only one trial session per applicant to maintain fairness in our admission process.

No formal academic assessments are conducted. We focus on holistic development and school readiness—academic skills will naturally develop through our curriculum.

We are happy to consider children with mild learning or developmental differences on a case-by-case basis. However, we are not equipped to support children who have been formally diagnosed with special needs or who require specialized intervention. Our priority is to ensure that every child enrolled can thrive in our group setting with the level of support we are able to provide.

Yes. A nominal fee of RM120 is charged for the trial class to cover materials and staffing, as your child will be participating in a real classroom session. This fee is non-refundable and does not guarantee admission but ensures a meaningful observation experience for both your child and our educators.

The Offer Letter includes confirmation of your child’s placement, the programme offered (half-day/full-day), fee structure, payment instructions, start date, and onboarding details.

Due to the high volume of enquiries, we are unable to accommodate individual school tours. All visits are scheduled during our Open Day, where families will have the opportunity to explore the environment, meet our educators, and ask questions. This ensures a focused, quality experience for every visiting family.

Many children join us with limited English. Our educators are experienced in supporting language development through play and routine. Children are gently encouraged to communicate through gestures, visuals, and gradual verbalisation.

Both centres are part of the Timbertots family. Timbertots Child Care Centre focuses on foundational early years (ages 1.5–4), while Timbertots Early Years Centre continues the journey for older preschoolers (ages 3–6) with deeper academic preparation and project-based inquiry.

Yes. Children enrolled in Timbertots Child Care Centre will be given priority and automatically transitioned to Timbertots Early Years Centre unless parents opt out. Transfers between locations may also be considered based on availability.

Yes. Families who accept the offer will be invited to a Parent Orientation session via online and receive an info pack with all necessary information to support a smooth transition into school.
